What To Expect At Worship
Growing together in faith and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all people.
WHAT TO EXPECT
We understand it can be intimidating to come to worship for the first time at a church you’ve never been to before. Here’s a little information about what to expect. When you come through our doors, you will be in our gathering area. Members and guests visit before entering the chapel for worship.

WHERE TO SIT?
Feel free to sit wherever you’d like, whether the front or the back. If you need assistance an usher will help you.

WHAT TO WEAR?
You’ll find worshipers at Riverview wearing everything from suits to casual attire. We aren’t worried about what you are wearing.

WHAT ABOUT THE KIDS?
Kids of all ages are welcome at Riverview. We encourage kids and their parents to grow in faith together as they hear God’s word and sing his praise.

WHAT ARE SERVICES LIKE?
Our service includes Bible readings, a sermon, prayers, and singing. The entire service is printed in the service folder you receive when you come in and projected on screens at the front of the chapel to make it easy to follow along and participate. Services usually last about an hour.

WHAT’S THE MUSIC LIKE?
Riverview, like most Lutheran churches, is known for our use of music in worship. We follow a liturgical worship format that is generally consistent week-to-week and that includes regular components spoken or sung by the Pastor and the Congregation. These elements are all printed in that week’s service folder.
During any given service we’ll also sing several hymns as a congregation, generally with organ or piano accompaniment; these are found in hymnals provided in the chapel or are printed in the week’s service folder.

WHAT ABOUT THE OFFERING?
The members of Riverview have joined together to carry out the Lord’s work here and around the world. A free-will financial offering is gathered during the worship service, but guests are not expected to participate.
